If I talk about the Xiaomi Mi 15, this is understated. This is a square model design, and it’s a totally different design from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The big camera module of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra makes it look slightly front-heavy. If I talk about the weight, this is 228 grams, and if I talk about the Mi 15, it’s 199 grams.

Display — If I talk about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, it’s a micro quad curved 6.7″ 120Hz display with 2K resolution. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. It has 3200 nits peak brightness, and that too in a 25% area. It’s a beautiful display for multimedia because of this HDR10+ and Dolby version. There are 3 different eye care certifications on the screen.

Camera — If I talk about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera, it has a 50MP primary sensor, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP telephoto, and 200MP 4.3X zoom HP9 Samsung periscope sensor. There’s a 32MP selfie sensor. If I talk about the 15’s camera, it doesn’t have a 200MP periscope but also has the other 3 sensors: 50MP + 50MP + 50MP and a 32MP selfie sensor.

Performance of Xiaomi 15 Series

If I talk about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, you get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite; the latest & greatest AnTuTu score is around 2.7M. If you run it in a cold fridge, it can go up to 2.8M. It has LPDDR5X RAM & UFS 4.1 storage. In this, you get 4.0 storage type. It comes in 1 variant, 16/512GB. If I talk about 15’s, it has 12/512GB. If we talk about gaming performance, you get 90 FPS now; it will be 120 FPS through the update; it shouldn’t be a problem.

Generally, we saw that the phone was a little warm in 14. But this one, they’ve kept the 8 Elite in control thanks to their Ice Loop Vapor cooling chamber. So it’s a little warm, but not so much. It’s not like it’ll feel hot when you’re gaming for a long time, so it’s decent. You won’t get more than 43-44 FPS on the phones. Ports & Buttons of Xiaomi 15 Series

There’s a SIM card tray at the bottom and a microphone. There’s a USB Type-C port, a speaker grill, and a volume rocker on the right. And it has a nice texture on it. So it feels good. There’s nothing on the top and nothing on the left. Obviously, it’s a metal frame so you can see antenna lines. In-hand feel is good. But the camera module is big, so you can feel it every time on your hand. It comes with Xiaomi Shield 2.0, which is the 1st generation. There’s a fiberglass at the back, and it’s made of vegan leather.

Battery & Connectivity

It has a 5410mAh battery; 90W charging is available in the adapter box. You get 80W wireless charging, and if I talk about the Xiaomi Mi 15, you get a 5240mAh battery, 90W wired & 50W wireless charging. If I talk about connectivity, the Global Variant WiFi 7 comes with WiFi 6 on both the phones. And it’s the 1st phone that comes with Bluetooth 6.0.

There are 22 5G bands, so connectivity is all there. There’s an IR blaster, NFC, and eSIM support. If I talk about the SIM card, there’s dual SIM, but last year there was no eSIM support. This time, there’s eSIM support, and that is a dual nano SIM card. So you can either use 2 physical SIMs or 1 eSIM & 1 physical SIM.

Xiaomi 15 Series OS UI

It has Xiaomi Hyper OS 2.0, which is based on Android 15. You get 4 years of major updates & 6 years of security updates. So you will get Android 16, 17, 18 & 19. It feels good, and there are a lot of AI features like AI Eraser and AI Expansion. If you want to expand a photo, you can do that. There are AI writing tools, and there are a lot of AI features. In fact, in the launch event, they talked about AI for a long time. So yes, all AI features are also there. If I talk about the sensors, there are all sensors. In fact, both the phones have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor & face unlock.

Let’s talk about the other features; it has IP68 certification, and there are quad mics. So it helps a lot while recording videos. There’s Dolby Vision & Dolby Vision HDR. There’s one thing I want to point out about the performance. The haptic feedback is beautiful; it’s very refined & fun. And there’s one more thing about the OS—the lock screen customizations are very nice. So if you are a fan of lock screen customizations, you are going to like this.
