Of course, although the official version pushed this time is very large and brings many updates, the author still experienced the update through Xiaomi 15. Although there is no problem with fluency, the power consumption is a bit high. It may be because it has just been updated. It may take a few days to make a final conclusion.
But bugs also exist, especially the negative one screen. The author found that many problems still occurred after this update, so it is really hard to say what the result will be. Another thing is that this large-scale system update push comes at a time when Xiaomi’s operating system strategy is undergoing major adjustments, because earlier this year, Xiaomi Pengpai OS officially released a system version adjustment announcement in the Xiaomi community.
It was announced that the current “development version” mode will be replaced by a new “Beta version” mode, which means that the development version system will officially stop updating in August 2024, and there will only be two versions of Pengpai OS in the future.
They are the “Beta version” for internal test users and the “official version” for all users. For existing development version users, Xiaomi promises that it will support upgrading the development version to the official version without clearing data.
However, it should be noted that the existing development version qualifications do not support inheritance of the Beta version, and you will need to reapply for the Beta version qualifications at that time. This is also something you need to note.
In any case, as the first batch of 18 models complete the upgrade one after another, more Xiaomi devices will be included in the update plan of Pengpai OS 2. This long-term system support strategy is rewriting the competition rules of the Android ecosystem.
